A LOOK AT WHO’S ON THE MOVE ON OAHU

GAISON ONTAI moves up to director of Physician Contracts & Corporate Counsel at The Queen’s Health Systems (QHS). He is responsible for advising and representing the medical center and its affiliates in legal affairs. Prior to joining QHS in 2013 as contract liaison, Ontai was deputy prosecuting attorney with the City and County of Honolulu. He attended the University of Hawaii where he earned a bachelor’s degree and Juris Doctorate from the UH William S. Richardson School of Law.

KARA JOVIC comes on board as brand director at iQ 360’s Honolulu location. Jovic’s areas of expertise include brand strategy, brand design and rebranding as she leads initiatives for clients in a variety of industries. She holds more than 15 years of branding, advertising and creative direction experience, most recently working with Creative Sages, a creative collective founded by Jovic. An accomplished writer, Jovic has also been published in several Hawaii magazines including HI Luxury Magazine.

CHRISTINA BENITO steps in as medical social worker at Ekahi WellCare where she will work closely with patients with diabetes, providing everything from transportation to behavioral health services. Benito previously was a social worker at Islands Hospice just before becoming a part of the Ekahi team. In addition to being a licensed social worker, she holds a master’s degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore.

CHRISTOPHER SURE is Goodsill’s newest associate in the firm’s Business Litigation group. He has an extensive background in commercial and business, litigation, construction law, land valuation and lease rent disputes. Sure attended University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law, and is an active member of Volunteer Legal Services of Hawaii and Courts in the Community.

HOLDEN LAU now is an independent agent and Global Luxury team member at Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties of its Honolulu office. In addition to serving as the real estate contributor for kakaako.com, he will focus on the Metro Honolulu and Kakaako markets. Lau joins Coldwell from serving as a realtor-associate at Keller Williams.

SHAWN YAMADA of Carlsmith Ball advances to partner at the law firm after exemplifying various abilities to successfully assist clients in estate planning and probate matters, and working finely with other partners in litigation cases across the state. Yamada specializes in estate planning, probate, trust administration, real property and land use. She earned a Juris Doctorate, graduating with magna cum laude honors, from the University of Hawaii’s William S. Richardson School of Law.
