DAVID RAIR advances to senior vice president in the legal and corporate services division of First Hawaiian Bank. He will be responsible for providing legal review and counsel for the bank. Rair has worked as a Honolulu attorney for 28 years, specializing in banking, financial services and commercial lending prior to joining the company, where he first served in the legal and corporate services division in 2012. Rair holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Maryland.

DIANE ITO joins Coldwell Banker Pacific Properties’ Kahala office as an independent agent and global luxury property specialist for the Manoa neighborhood. She returns to the company, where she started in 2003, after serving as a Realtor at Keller Williams Honolulu. Ito has more than 25 years of experience in the garment industry in Hawaii and California before starting her real estate career, and she has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and marketing from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

ERIC VALDESCARO moves in as associate vice president for advancement services for the University of Hawaii Foundation. He will manage several areas within the advancement services operation, including gift processing, prospect research and management, reporting and analytics, donor compliance and gift administration, and information technology. Valdescaro brings more than 25 years of experience supporting higher education and foundation advancement into this new position, where he will establish principles and apply technical solutions to enhance the organization’s processes and infrastructure to grow the success of the Foundation’s fundraising and alumni engagement mission.

SANDY NARVAEZ now is director of sales and marketing for The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Waikiki Beach. She will be responsible for overseeing and leading all strategic global sales and marketing initiatives for Waikiki’s newest luxury resort and also the first Ritz-Carlton resort on Oahu. Narvaez also will be instrumental in leading the opening of the resort’s Diamond Head Tower in October, marking the property’s completion. She brings more than 10 years of executive sales and marketing experience in the areas of hospitality and travel to the resort.

MAUREEN DUFFY is the commercial lines underwriting manager for DTRIC Insurance. She will be in charge of managing the commercial lines underwriting department, including underwriters and underwriting technicians. Duffy previously served as the insurance trainer at Atlas Insurance and held various roles with United Property & Casualty Insurance, International Catastrophe Insurance Co. and Zephyr Insurance Co.

DANE TERUYA moves up as executive vice president, chief financial officer for American Savings Bank (ASB). He will support strategic initiatives and business growth while leading the treasury, financial planning and accounting teams. Teruya, who has more than two decades of banking experience, first joined ASB as treasurer in 2016.
