A LOOK AT WHO’S ON THE MOVE ON OAHU
JESSE ALLEN is the new principal broker overseeing operations at Equity First Realty Hawaii LLC. He earned his Bachelor of Arts in environmental studies at the University of Colorado Boulder. Allen has been actively involved in the community, serving as the president of the Exchange Club of Downtown Honolulu and secretary of the Wounded Warrior Ohana. Allen also is a licensed Realtor at leading Hawaii agencies, such as Bob Vieira Realty LLC and Keller Williams Honolulu, since 2013.
MARGARET NAKAKUNI steps in as the new patient care coordinator for Kuakini Geriatric Care Inc.’s Intermediate Care Facility. Her new responsibilities include making sure that daily operations are based on nursing standards, policies and procedures, and federal and state requirements. She also will work with other departments, including the medical staff, to continue maintaining safe and quality care for Kuakini residents. Nakakuni has 30 years of nursing experience, which includes 27 years of quality development work, and 22 years as a certified professional in health care quality.
KAREN SOULES joins Kaiser Permanente as a health care provider, practicing urogynecology at the Honolulu medical office. She received her medical degree from the University of Michigan Medical School, completed her OBGYN residency at the University of Hawaii (UH), and finished her fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery at Louisiana State University. Soules also is an assistant professor at UH’s John A. Burns School of Medicine.
BRUCE LANE moves in as the chief financial officer (CFO) for AlohaCare. Previously, Lane served as the senior vice president of finance and CFO of Illinicare Health in Westmont, Illinois, where he was responsible for the health plan’s finance and accounting. He has 17 years of experience in health care finance and earned a Master of Science in accounting and a Master of Business Administration from Governors State University in Illinois.
ALANA PAKKALA advances to chief operating officer for the Kobayashi Group, a privately owned real estate development and investment firm. In her new role, she will oversee project management, including design, construction and development.
BRIAN DOTE now is senior vice president and director of mobile and digital commerce in the Digital Channels Division for Bank of Hawaii. With more than 20 years of experience in mobile and software application development and UX design, Dote will be in charge of developing and managing the bank’s digital bank strategy, along with developing the business, technology and marketing plans for mobile and digital commerce. Previously, Dote worked as a software engineer in Silicon Valley, as well as a user interface designer and manager at technology companies, including Apple and Cisco Systems. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Hawaii and his master’s degree from Hawaii Pacific University.
