KEKOA KALUHIWA is the newly appointed senior director for the Statewide Operations Division of Kamehameha Schools’ (KS) Community Engagement and Resources (CE&R) Group. He will develop, lead and work with CE&R Group’s statewide departments, other state departments and leaders to ensure effective service for the communities KS serves. Kaluhiwa is the former executive assistant to U.S. Senator Daniel K. Akaka.

LYLE HARADA is Island Insurance’s new senior vice president of its Claims Division. In addition to Claims Counsel, he will oversee strategic planning, development and management of all claims functions for the company. Harada has a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Hawaii William S. Richardson School of Law, and he previously was a partner with Kawashima, Lorusso and Harada law firm.

MICHELLEE PHELPS joins Hawaii Convention Center (HCC) as manager of communications and special events. She will head all relations pertinent to communications and special events at HCC. Phelps previously held similar positions at Outrigger Enterprises Group and Walt Disney Co., among others. She studied communications and advertising at California State University at Fullerton.

DR. LINDA ANEGAWA is the newest member of Hawaii Pacific Health’s 360° Weight Management Center team at Pali Momi Medical Center. She is a specialist in weight-related health risks and diseases, weight-maintenance education, weight management and obesity medicine. Anegawa attended Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania where she earned her medical degree, and completed her residency at Stanford University in California.

DANIELLE MITCHELL is WhiteSpace Architects’ newest designer. Within her project duties is the upcoming Waianae High School Searider Productions complex. Mitchell authored a range of design topics in Denver Business Journal and CRIT: Journal of the American Institute of Architecture Students. She received her Bachelor of Architecture degree with a minor in environmental inquiry from Pennsylvania State University.

DANIEL SHAW moves into Kaiser Permanente (KP) Hawaii’s vice president and chief financial officer positions. He has been with KP since 2001, holding senior positions at the company’s Los Angeles and Southern California facilities. Shaw will manage the financial operations of the Hawaii region, which includes supply chain and revenue cycle management, and financial reporting and analysis.
