WESLEY PUMPHREY steps in as executive chef at STRIPSTEAK Waikiki. He is responsible for overseeing all facets of food preparation and management of the kitchen. Pumphrey began his culinary career by working at various operations in California, such as La Folie in San Francisco and The Montage Hotel Parq Restaurant in Beverly Hills. In 2014, he joined Think Food Group, where he developed his proficiency in modern cooking techniques, as well as mastered classical Spanish flavors.
JOYCE BERNARDO advances to director of marketing at the Oahu Visitors Bureau (OVB). She will develop and oversee the implementation of OVB’s strategic marketing plan covering domestic and key international markets and initiatives including management and coordination of cooperative marketing campaigns, public relations programs, promotions, e-marketing, assets management and social media. Bernardo began her career with OVB in 2005 as an administrative coordinator.
SHANNON CARVALHO joins iQ 360 as office manager of its Honolulu office. She manages variety of operational activities and provides human resources and bookkeeping support for the firm’s local and mainland teams. Carvalho has more than 20 years of administrative experience, most recently serving as an administrative manager for the United States Senate. Prior to that, she worked as the executive administrator for Parents and Children Together and as the director of workforce maintenance and production at Lanakila Pacific.
GREG NAKAJO, Edward Jones financial advisor, accepts an offer to establish an office in the Aina Haina Professional Building at 850 West Hind Drive, Ste. 112A. Nakajo previously worked at the Edward Jones office in Hawaii Kai. His focus areas include retirement savings strategies, retirement income strategies, insurance and annuities, college savings and estate strategies.
