STEPHANY VAIOLETI joins Hawaii Energy as accessibility and affordability manager. She will oversee the strategic planning for programs, campaigns and activities focused on Hawaii’s Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed (ALICE) populations that have historically been underserved in the area of energy efficiency. Vaioleti will also manage the organization’s EmPOWER Program, an initiative to help nonprofits reduce their facilities’ energy costs.
EARL KIM steps in as head of school at Le Jardin Academy. Kim recently served as the superintendent of schools for Stamford Public Schools in Connecticut. He previously served as head of school at Kamehameha Schools – Kapalama Campus. Kim has a master’s degree in public affairs, domestic policy analysis from Princeton University and a Bachelor of Arts in history from Cornell University in New York.
CATHY NGUYEN advances to assistant vice president/assistant manager of operations at Territorial Savings Bank’s checking department. She is responsible for managing and supervising the day-to-day operations of the department and coordinating with the department manager. Nguyen graduated from the University of Hawaii majoring in human resources and finance. She has been a part of the Territorial Savings Bank team for more than 14 years.
RICKY KUSUDA moves up to chef de cuisine at Hilton Hawaiian Village’s Bali Steak & Seafood. As head chef, he has oversight of the restaurant’s farm-to-table cuisine. Prior to his new position, Kusuda was the resort’s banquet chef, overseeing the resort’s banquet spaces, Waikiki Starlight Luau and the Tapa Commissary Kitchen. Kusuda also spent several years on the culinary team at The Kahala Hotel & Resort.
