VANCE JONES moves up to executive vice president from chief information security officer at Bank of Hawaii. Jones played an important role in building a secure and modern information infrastructure. The bank relies on his advice, recommendation and perspective in the areas of cyber security and IT operational risk. Jones leverages his long tenure at the bank to champion change and mentor many of his teammates, and is generous with his time and knowledge.

RACHEL WILLIS steps in as executive director for Hawaii HomeOwnership Center Mortgage. The nonprofit has a mission to provide affordable financing to low-moderate income borrowers. Willis has been with the organization as senior loan officer and assistant executive director for the past six years, with an additional 12 years experience as executive director in the nonprofit housing and finance industry.

DR. BRADLEY CHUN joins the continuing care department at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Hawaii (UH), John A. Burns School of Medicine and completed his internal medicine residency at also UH. Prior to joining Hawaii Permanente Medical Group (HPMG), he practiced internal medicine at Kokua Kalihi Valley, serving as the assistant clinical director for two years before becoming an attending physician at the Queen Emma Clinics in Honolulu. HPMG serves more than 255,000 members in Hawaii.

DR. MARTHA CRUZ steps in as a new physician at Pali Momi Medical Center specializing in neurology. Cruz earned her medical degree at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Georgia and completed a residency in neurology and fellowship in neurophysiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Board certified in neurology, her professional interests include study of epilepsy and headaches.

TOMOKO NAKA advances to associate at HHF Planners. In her 15 years of work in landscape architecture, Naka has gained an extensive range of experience in public park, commercial, condominium, resort, housing, institutional, military and high-end residential projects in Hawaii, Guam, the San Francisco Bay Area and Japan. Having worked on a number of LEED certified projects, she melds sustainable landscape approaches such as passive storm-water management, green roofs, and native plantings in her design.

ROBERT HATANAKA joins the leadership team of Accuity LLP. A Maui native, Hatanaka has 30 years experience as a corporate controller with extensive involvement in the public accounting field. He earned both a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in accounting from the Shidler College of Business at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where he also still lectures. Previously, Hatanaka worked as an audit principal at two other locally based CPA firms.
